Nick and I finished watching all 3 seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and declared that we’d dress up as Midge Maisel & Susie for Halloween. Unfortunately, instead of attending a party or going to our office dressed like hooligans or entering a haunted house (we did all this last year!), we’re probably spending Halloween taking pictures of ourselves to then just post on social media. Fun.
Regardless, we (see: I) can’t resist dressing up. Picture us in the get up below. The kicker: who’s dressing up as who? 🤔
👍 What went well: Real estate!
I’m on my way to fulfill my #passiveincome dreams through real estate. I’m betting on the fact that now’s probably the best time to invest, with real estate at an all-time low. Goal is to find viable investments and ideally make a transaction before the end of this year. Alyssa gave us a crash course based on her experience (thanks girl!) I’m looking at property in the Philippines and some in the U.S.
If you have any real estate advice, open units that could be good investments, recommendations for agents, HMU!
👎 What could be better: Overthinking
If you know Chidi from The Good Place, I am the female, Filipino version. This week my fickle-ness manifested in thinking about an idea for a newsletter. Of course I got bitten by the “write a newsletter” bug and have been thinking of ways to better monetize my desire to write. I brainstormed many a newsletter idea from product management insights to humorous productivity tidbits to a-riddle-a-week (Nick got tired of it, I think).
I think I’m finally settling on writing about Southeast Asian emerging market tech, and figuring out the niche audience within that to write for. But let’s see if I end up embodying my inner Chidi in the next couple days.
👉 What’s up next: User Research!
I love the phase of the product development lifecycle where we actually talk to real users! Products should revolve around users! We’re talking to users of Open to #Hiring, digging deep into what delighted them, what value they’re getting out of the experience, and what challenges they’re encountering. Getting a few insights already and can’t wait to funnel it all back to building more features to improve!
👌 Nudges of the Week
Jack Butcher’s Visualize Value takes everyday principles and visualizes it in calm & minimal illustrations. Here’s a sample on bouncing out from failure :)
Overthinking,
